Noor Aziz

Noor Aziz

Originally from Pakistan, Noor Aziz is a self-taught artist, now based in London. Her greatest passion is her constant creative competition with herself, whether that be experimenting with various mediums to working on new surfaces, drawing and experimenting has been a part of her since the very beginning.

By experimenting, stepping outside of her comfort zone, and attempting to make sense of everything in the creative world, she has come a long way. 2022 has been extremely lucky for her, as a shortlisted artist in the Derwent Art Prize for her piece ‘Guilt’ she had the opportunity to show case her work in the renowned OXO Tower Wharf in London as well as in Paris, a piece that resulted in her being awarded The People’s Choice Award. Her artwork has also been chosen for exhibitions in a variety of other galleries in several cities along with being party of many online competitions.

Noor also works on commissions; she can draw anything from family portraits to pets. She is a self-described perfectionist and will never leave her work unsatisfied, she never gives up; and she constantly exercises and tests her mind to make sure she can handle even the most challenging subjects. A prime example of this is a series that she has been working on called “emotions”, consisting mainly of portraits, this is one of the most enjoyable projects that Noor has worked on in her career so far, connecting with her on a personal level. Drawing has always been a very personal venture, expression currently feelings and emotions onto paper, this project embodies this perfectly. In Noor’s own words “Art for me is a way of expressing myself. It’s deep, it’s private, it’s unvoiced but is still out there for others to share.”
