I have always had a passion for drawing and in particular drawing animals, big or small domestic or wild I enjoy drawing them! In the sixteen years since completing my degree in Design Studies at Wolverhampton University I have been continuously honing my skills completing both pet portraits and studies of wild animals.
I am fascinated with the amazing creatures which we have the privilege of sharing our planet with and love to draw and paint them in a variety of mediums. I think the character of an animal can be seen in their faces and in particular their eyes. It is said the eyes are the windows to the soul and I believe this is true in animals as well as us humans. I am fascinated with this concept and strive to capture this in both my commissioned pieces and self initiated work. I am currently working on a series of studies focusing primarily on close up images of the faces of a variety of my favourite animals, some are big some small some very rare and others we see every day but all share a beauty.
