The Derwent Pencil Museum is delighted to announce the 'Artist In Residence' summer courses 2018. This year we have included a factory visit, where Derwent pencils are produced (requiring own transport), on some courses. For more details click here.
Workshops will include lunch and refreshments, plus an additional 10% discount on Derwent retail products. All art materials are supplied for every course. Prices vary per workshop.
Places are restricted to 12 people so, do book ahead to avoid disappointment. To book your place, please phone the Derwent Museum on 01768 773626.
Located in Keswick, the home of the first pencil, visitors enter this museum through a replica graphite mine which would have served as the source of the pencil industry over three centuries ago. A journey of graphite and pencil discovery from its humble beginnings as a cottage industry to modern day production.
Discover the secret WW2 pencils with hidden maps; the Guinness World Record for the largest colour pencil measuring almost 8 metres; The Queen's diamond Jubilee pencil; miniature pencil sculptures; and much much more!
There is also a Derwent Fine Art retail shop, art workshops and a coffee shop with free wifi.
