Devon born and raised artist Samantha Norbury is an artist who has chosen to specialize in animal and human portraiture.
She loves to use pencil to create her artwork - both in colour and graphite.
She finds the control found with Derwents’ ever expanding and improving ranges allow her to apply the amount of detail she endeavours to include in her work each time.
Although not a full-time artist, she still spends every spare minute creating art and is never happier than when she is sat in the garden drawing, with her dog by her side and the birds chirping away (and her husband bringing her the occasional cup of tea!)
In 2012 she was commissioned by Derwent to draw a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee. This can be seen hanging in the Derwent Museum.
