The Riverlands project addresses one of the many challenges facing nature in the UK, an ambitious waterways project which will support rivers ranging from the Derwent in Cumbria to the narrow streams of Porlock Vale in Somerset. Restoring rivers and the wildlife that sit alongside them, promoting nature-friendly faming; providing opportunities for people to reconnect with nature, and engaging with local communities.
One of the key locations of the National Trust’s Riverlands Project is the River Derwent in the Lake District. Derwent are deeply rooted in the Lake District, where we have been creating pencils since 1916. We welcome the opportunity to support the delivery of the Riverlands project to care for the environment we call home.
10% of each product sold (a minimum of £10,000) from the Derwent and National Trust Riverlands Collection will go to the River Derwent programme, part of National Trust’s Riverland’s Project - a national conservation programme to restore a healthy environment within rivers and protect wildlife.
