Drawing pencils have been developed to be suitable for a wide range of subject matters. The nature-inspired colour palette is especially good for capturing a variety of subjects, from wildlife and landscapes to portraiture. Their soft, creamy texture makes it easy to blend colours smoothly and create texture and depth. 

Yes, Drawing pencils are highly lightfast. Derwent uses the Blue Wool test (ISO 105) to evaluate lightfastness. Lightfastness refers to the chemical stability of a pigment under long exposure to light. Please refer to our colour chart for individual colour ratings. 

Derwent Drawing pencils are wax-based pencils.

The Drawing pencil core is 5mm.

Drawing has a range of 72 nature-inspired colours from opaque black and white, sepias, greens, blue and soft purples. All are available as single pencils or within tin sets of 6-72 colours.
