NEW Derwent Inktense Selection

The unique and versatile Derwent Inktense range takes water-soluble media to a whole new level; pure tones, vibrant colours, a highly blendable texture and translucent ink-like washes.

The unique and versatile Derwent Inktense range takes water-soluble media to a whole new level; pure tones, vibrant colours, a highly blendable texture and translucent ink-like washes.

The new Derwent Inktense Selection features a clever combination of 22 Inktense Pencils, 10 Inktense Blocks and 5 accessories which complement each other beautifully and open up a wide range of creative possibilities from traditional watercolours to stunning arts and crafts.

Dry Derwent Inktense delivers pure vibrant colour but when completely washed out it is transformed into a translucent ink-like paint which, when dry, is permanent and can be worked over with other media.

The new Derwent Inktense Selection opens up an exciting world of colour and artistic style – the chunky blocks are ideal for quick expansive areas of colour, the pencils are perfect for fine intricate details and the accessories, a sandpaper block, eraser, pencil sharpener and 2 grippers not only keep the blocks, pencils and your hands in pristine condition they can also be used to create interesting painterly effects.

The Derwent Inktense 37 Selection is presented in a robust 2-tier tin ideal for storing and transporting the pencils and blocks safely. The front of the tin features 3 stunning drawings; a Macaw, a Tree Frog and a Bird of Paradise plant by professional artist Caroline Bletsis which demonstrate the versatility and vibrancy of the Inktense range.

Speaking about the selection Caroline said ‘This selection has quickly made its way to being one of my favourite mediums. I love the versatility of the pencils and blocks you can draw with them, use them thinly like watercolours, layer them for depth of colour without fear of the pigment running, and achieve incredible richness of colour. They blend on the paper, are completely colourfast, you can even use them to paint on fabric - I've done a few ties and t-shirts and the design remains colourfast after washing.’
